The Aligned Dance Story
Aligned Dance takes pride in providing fun, welcoming, and inclusive classes. Everyone is welcome and all abilities are catered for.
Our lead instructor, Matt Coleman, has a wealth of dance experience. Starting out in ballroom, a chance encounter with line dancing while travelling in the U.S. led him to this new passion.
Upon returning to Australia he started taking classes until a friend convinced him to start teaching online during the 2020 lockdowns. He now runs various classes and events across Melbourne. His unique teaching style and friendly demeanour see students coming from all around Melbourne and regional Victoria to attend his classes.. and now he has a team of friendly instructors who love line dancing as much as he does!

Matt Coleman
Founder and Lead Instructor
Matt has an infectious passion for line dancing that ensures every student leaves his classes smiling. He started his line dancing journey in 2017, gathering a beautiful repertoire of moves that allowed him to begin teaching in 2020. Matt teaches with clear, well-paced instructions that make it possible for anyone to line dance!
Sammy McGregor
Instructor
Sammy is well known for being OBSESSED with line dancing! Her goal is to share this passion with everyone so they can experience the same joy through dancing that she does.
Lizzy Whitton
Instructor
Lizzy has been lighting up dance floors for several years. Her steps are clean, clear, and easy to follow, making her a dream line dance instructor. She specialises in helping new dancers find their feet.
Susan Thompson
Instructor
Susan has been dancing with Aligned Dance since April 2024 and came into line dancing like a duck to water. Massively enthusiastic right from that start, Susan would practice at home just about every day. Susan is now sharing her passion for line dancing as a new instructor!
Paully Mozjerin
Instructor
Paully is a passionate line dancer and VLDA member, involved with clubs including Aligned Dance and LDSP, with experience dancing across different communities including the Northern Territory. Dancing since 2024, he has developed a strong interest in the social and inclusive aspects of line dancing.
